Finally, the God has listened to the feminists and one day all men were vanished from the face of the earth…..

The moment Neela heard the news, she was ecstatic; she started dancing. Her girlfriends had so many relationships in the past but could never get one lover who would love them. That is why she can not withstand guys at all. Men are so disgusting. Her main job so far was to abuse men and demand killing all men. What could be more fascinating than the news that the same men are vanished from the earth?

She boarded a bus from her PG for her University happily. Today, there is no man in the bus. Even the driver, helper all are women. Even then there is no space in the bus. During these peak hours normally all city buses are overcrowded. So far, she used to travel happily in ‘women special’ buses which used to be empty as women didn’t need to work in large numbers. Traditionally, Indian women were happy working in home and taking care of their homes and children. But ever since they started demanding equality and women wanted to go out and earn like men did, they had to face all these problems. The problem was solved to some extent by getting those special provisions like ‘women special’ buses and trains but when all men are vanished from the earth, there is no special provision for women now.

There was a sudden jerk in the bus and an old woman of her grandma’s age came crashing on her. Neela immediately blasted her, “mind your behaviour, whenever you see a young woman you want to pounce on her? You potential rapist!”

The grandmother was not someone to keep mum. She started shouting too, “see girl, don’t you dare be so proud of your beauty. In your age, I was thousand times more beautiful than you are today. As a woman yourself, don’t you feel ashamed to call another woman a potential rapist?”

Neela was very embarrassed. She forgot that there was no man in the bus. These used to happen earlier too. Men and boys of all ages used to fall on her due to these sudden jerks, and then Neela used to abuse all men as ‘potential rapists’. She always got support from other women around. But today even after searching the bus thoroughly she didn’t find one man to be identified as a ‘potential rapist’.

Neela became very sad. She thought, to identify some people as ‘rapists’, the God should have kept some men alive.

She took a rickshaw from the University gate to her department. The normal fare is Rs. 10, but the rickshaw puller asked for twenty bucks from her. Neela slammed her harshly – “whenever you see women you need to cheat huh? You Greedy men!”.

The woman rickshaw puller was also adamant. She replied in an equal harsh tone, “See madam! As a woman I am pulling rickshaw to make both ends meet, as I can no longer be at home and cook for my family. I need to earn as well. Don’t abuse me by saying I am a ‘man’. The fare is Rs 20 from now on and that is what you need to pay.”

Now Neela was really embarrassed. No matter what, no woman can be abused as ‘greedy’ and ‘man‘. That is an insult for the entire womenfolk.

Neela was saddened again. At least for pulling rickshaws, doing these labour intensive and harmful jobs and still getting abused as ‘greedy’, Bhagawan should have kept some men alive.

In the class, Laboni and Urmila started laughing at her the moment they saw her. They commented while laughing, “what are you wearing babe? Your choice is sooooo bad? Your cleavage is prominently visible and your nipples, too. The colour of eye-shadow is making you look like a cheap call-girl, not a college girl. Haha..”

Neela was fired up at these comments. “Shut up you sexists!!” – She shouted. “Aren’t you ashamed to comment on a girl’s dress? You…. you all are chauvinist pigs.”

Urmila shouted back, “How dare you? I am a woman, only men can be sexists and chauvinists. How can you abuse me like that?”    

Neela became saddened again. At least to abuse someone as ‘sexist’ and ‘chauvinist’, her God should have kept some men alive.

Right at this moment Neela saw sari-clad Mouli in her class. Earlier Indian women used to wear this traditional Indian dress all the time. Feminist Neela always hated dresses like Sari and Salwar Kameej the traditional Indian dresses and loved cleavage revealing, curve adoring tight dresses. Sometime she prefers not wearing anything but her sexist college founded during patriarchal oppressive era had all these oppressive rules for girls.

She turned to Mouli and taunted her, “what do you girls get by wearing these rugs and getting covered up from head to toe? Why do you need to listen to your fundamentalist and oppressive father?

Mouli said, “No, its my choice. Moreover, I don’t have a father. The world has become free of all men, don’t you know that?”

Neela became deeply sad, again. At least to abuse someone as a fundamentalist and oppressive Bhagawan should have kept some men alive.

After attending all the annoying lectures in her University, Neela came back home. She got freshened up and switched on the TV. There is a breaking news on TV that in Yoginagar a woman is murdered brutally. Neela got very angry. She immediately started writing a Facebook status, “All men are sexists, rapists, murderers. Teach your sons not to kill women, they are your mothers…….”. After abusing men using all choicest abuses, and after writing a long article on how men should behave, Neela realized that the world has become free of all men. There is no man left. So, a woman must have murdered the girl.

Being a woman and a feminist how can she write against other women? Neela quit Facebook in anger as she didn’t find anything to write in the future. At least calling some men as ‘murders’, the god should have kept them alive.

Neela had a relationship with Sheela. Relationship means true platonic love, not like one night stands that men used to have in the name of love. When they were in honours final year, Sheela told her that she was getting married to Catherine, an American woman. Sheela’s family won’t accept Neela in their life.

After being rejected in love, Neela went to the police station to file a rape case against Sheela upon false promise of marriage. But the police station didn’t take the case. They said, how can a woman be a rapist? After all men were vanished the criminal section on ‘rape’ was abolished and crime rates have drastically reduced.

Neela was deeply bitter this time. At least to keep the ‘sex on promise of marriage as rape’, Bhagawan should have kept some men alive.

Neela got married. No, even though the world has become free of all men, marriage is still a ritual here. Even when there are no men alive, mothers-in-law take good amount of dowry on marry their daughters.

They were very happy in the first two years of marriage. But then one day they fought over which serial to watch on TV and then Neela went to the Police station to file for a Domestic Violence case against her ‘husband’.

But the police station told her that ever since men got abolished from this earth, the domestic violence law is also abolished. Women can’t be abusers. They are all goddesses like Durga, Kali etc.

Neela got saddened again! At least to file some domestic violence cases and term some people as domestic abusers, the God should have kept some men alive.

Neela is very sad today.

খবরটা শুনেই নীলা তীব্র আনন্দে নাচানাচি শুরু করলো। তার বান্ধবীরা গন্ডায় গন্ডায় প্রেম করছে অথচ এতোদিন চেষ্টা করেও সে একটা প্রেমিকও জোগাড় করতে পারে নাই,সেই থেকেই ছেলেদের সে দুই চোখে দেখতে পারে না। ছেলেদের সকাল বিকাল গালি দেওয়াই তার প্রধান কাজ। সেই ছেলেরা বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাওয়ার চেয়ে আনন্দের আর কী হতে পারে?

ভার্সিটিতে যাওয়ার জন্য বাসে উঠলো নীলা। আজ পুরো বাস পুরুষমুক্ত, ড্রাইভারও মেয়ে, হেল্পারও মেয়ে। তবুও বাসে পা ফেলার জায়গা নাই। ভাঙা রাস্তায় উঠে বাস জোরে একটা ঝাঁকি খেলো। নীলার পাশে দাঁড়ানো ষাটোত্তীর্ণ বৃদ্ধা মহিলা নীলার গায়ের উপর এসে পড়লো।

নীলা চিৎকার করে বললো, মাইন্ড ইয়োর শরীর!!মেয়ে দেখলেই গায়ে এসে পড়তে ইচ্ছে করে তাই না? পোটেনশিয়াল রেপিস্ট কোথাকার!!

মহিলা হাহা করে আর্তনাদ করে উঠলেন। বললেন,দ্যাখো মেয়ে, রূপের দেমাক কোরো না। তোমার বয়সে আমি তোমার চেয়েও হাজার গুনে সুন্দরী ছিলাম। একজন নারী হয়ে আরেকজন নারীকে পোটনশিয়াল রেপিস্ট বলতে লজ্জা লাগে না?

নীলা ভ্যাবাচ্যাকা খেয়ে গেলো। বাসে যে পুরুষ নাই, সে তো ভুলেই গেছিলো!!

এর আগেও এমন হতো। দেখা যেতো থুথ্থুড়ে বুড়ো বা আট বছরের ছেলে শিশুও রাস্তার ঝাঁকুনি সইতে না পেরে মাঝমধ্যে গায়ের উপর এসে পড়তো, নীলা তখন তাদের পটেনশিয়াল রেপিস্ট বলে গালি দিতো, পুরুষ জাতির বংশ উদ্ধার করতো। কিন্তু আজ পুরো বাসে তন্নতন্ন করেও গালি দেওয়ার জন্য একটা পুরুষও খুঁজে পেলো না।

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ রেপিস্ট গালিটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

ইউনিভার্সিটি গেট থেকে ডিপার্টমেন্ট এ ভাড়া দশ টাকা। রিকশাওয়ালী চাইলো বিশ টাকা। নীলা খেঁকিয়ে উঠলো, মেয়ে মানুষ দেখলেই ভাড়া বেশি নেওয়া লাগে না? লোভী পুরুষ জাত কোথাকার!! রিকশাওয়ালী হাউ হাউ করে উঠলো, দেখো দিদিমণি, আর যাই করেন, পুরুষমানুষ বলে গালি দেবেন না।মেয়েমানুষ হয়ে রিকশা চালাই, ভাড়া এখন থেকে কুড়ি টাকাই দিতে হবে ।

নীলা চুপসে যায়। আর যাই হোক, মেয়ে মানুষকে তো আর লোভী বলে গালি দেওয়া যায় না, ওতে জাতের অসম্মান হয়।

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ রিকশা চালানোর জন্য আর লোভী গালিটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

ক্লাসে নীলাকে দেখেই লাবণী, আর উর্মিলা হিহি করে হাসতে লাগলো। হাসতে হাসতেই বললো, এইটা কী কালারের ড্রেস পরছিস ভাই? তোর চয়েজ এতো খারাপ ? বুকের খাঁজ তো মাঝখান পর্যন্ত দেখা যাচ্ছে। কলেজ গার্ল নয়, কলগার্লের মতো লাগছে তোকে !! আর তোর কাজলটাও কিন্তু ঠিক মানায়নি তোর স্কিনের সাথে !!

নীল রেগেমেগে বলে শাট আপ !! সেক্সিস্ট কোথাকার !! লজ্জা করে না একটা মেয়ের ব্যক্তিস্বাধীনতায় হস্তক্ষেপ করতে? সবগুলো একেকটা রেপিস্ট, মেল শভিনিস্ট পিগ !!

উর্মিলা বললো, হাউ ডেয়ার ইউ নীলা!! আমি একজন নারী। সেক্সিস্ট তো পুরুষরা হয়, নারী হয়ে তুই আমাকে সেক্সিস্ট গালি দিতে পারিস না।

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ সেক্সিস্ট গালিটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

ঠিক এই সময় নীলার চোখ গেলো শাড়ি পরে থাকা মৌলির দিকে। শাড়ি, সালোয়ার কামিজ নীলার দুই চোখের বিষ। নীলার নিজের ফেভারিট পোষাক হলো বুক দেখানো স্কিন টাইট গেঞ্জি আর হট্ প‍্যান্ট !! সে মৌলিকে বললো, এইসব বস্তা পরে কী মজা পাস ? নিশ্চয়ই তোর মৌলবাদী বাবা তোকে জোর করে এই বস্তা পরে থাকতে ?

মৌলি বললো, না, এটা আমার চয়েজ। আর তাছাড়া বাবা তো নাই। পৃথিবী যে পুরুষশূন্য হয়ে গেছে তুই জানিস না?

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ মৌলবাদী গালিটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

বিরক্তিকর ক্লাস শেষ করে নীলা বাড়ি ফিরলো। বাসায় এসে মুখ ধুয়ে টিভি খুলে বসলো। টিভিতে ব্রেকিং নিউজ দিচ্ছে, যোগীনগরে এক মেয়েকে গলা কেটে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। নীলা রেগেমেগে আগুন হয়ে ফেসবুক খুললো। পুরুষজাতিকে খুনি, চামার, ছোটলোক বলে গালিগালাজ দিয়ে বিরাট একটা রচনা লেখার পর তার মনে পড়লো, পৃথিবী এখন পুরুষশূন্য।

অতএব খুনটাও নিশ্চয়ই কোনো নারীই করেছে। নারী হয়ে নারীর বিরুদ্ধে কীভাবে স্ট্যাটাস লিখবে সে? নীলা রেগেমেগে ফেসবুক থেকেই বেরিয়ে গেলো।

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ খুনি গালিটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

নীলার প্রেম ছিলো শিলার সাথে। প্রেম মানে স্বর্গীয় প্রেম, মনের প্রেম। পুরুষদের মতো বিছানায় শুয়ে পড়া প্রেম না। অনার্স ফাইনাল ইয়ারে থাকতেই শিলা জানালো ক্যাথেরিন নামের আমেরিকার এক মেয়ের সাথে তার বিয়ে ঠিক হয়েছে। তার পরিবার কোনোভাবেই নীলাকে মেনে নেবে না।

প্রেমে প্রতারিত হয়ে রাগে দুঃখে নীলা থানায় গেলো মামলা করতে। বিয়ের প্রলোভনে ধর্ষন মামলা। থানা মামলা নিলো না।

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ বিয়ের প্রলোভনে ধর্ষনের মামলাটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

নীলার বিয়ে হয়েছে। পারিবারিকভাবেই বিয়ে হয়েছে।

না, পৃথিবী পুরুষশূন্য হলেও বিয়ে বন্ধ হয় নাই। যৌতুকও বন্ধ হয় নাই। মোটা টাকার যৌতুক শ্বাশুড়িকে দিয়েই বিয়ে করতে হয়েছে।পৃথিবী পুরুষহীন হলেও এখন শ্বাশুড়িরা গুনে গুনে যৌতুক আদায় করে মেয়েদের বিয়ে দেন।

বিয়ের পর দুই বছর ভালোই চলছিলো। একদিন স্টার জলসা নাকি স্টার প্লাস এটা নিয়ে দুজনের মধ্যে কঠিন মারামারি শুরু হলো। চুলাচুলি, হাতাহাতি, মারামারি কিছুই বাদ গেলো না। নীলা থানায় গেলো নারী নির্যাতনের মামলা করতে। থানা থেকে বলা হলো পুরুষ জাতি উঠিয়ে নেওয়ার সাথে সাথে নারী নির্যাতন আইনও উঠে গেছে। মামলা হবে না। নারীরা নির্যাতক আবার হয় নাকি? নারীরা তো সব দেবী, দূর্গা, কালী ইত্যাদি !!

নীলার মনটা খারাপ হয়ে গেলো। অন্ততঃ নারী নির্যাতন মামলাটা দেওয়ার জন্য হলেও ঈশ্বরের উচিত ছিলো কিছু পুরুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা।

আজকে নীলার খুব মন খারাপ !!
