If you have a son, it is time for you to worry because a new policy drafted by WCD ministry (now available on their website) is set to create structural injustice against boys that will systematically throw our boys out of the education system and make it difficult for them to find jobs.
Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has created a draft plan called National Policy for Women, 2016 that is set to create institutional injustice against boys who are supposed to be taken care by the same ministry.
Under the area of Education, this policy states that efforts will be made to improve access to pre-primary education for girl children, showing ministry’s discriminatory attitude against boys. The National Policy for Women further states that this will help girl students in skill development and preparation for primary schools and retention therein. What this means is girls will be made more competitive at the cost of tax paid by men while the male children will be deprived of the same training. Resulting in more and more boys finding themselves unsuitable for the education system and will eventually be forced to leave the same. While the ministry claims that this training at the pre-primary level will help prevent poor performance of girls in schools and will ensure they don’t drop out, the structural injustice thus created by the ministry will force our sons to leave the education system because of them not getting required assistance.
Clause (iii) of the policy says “priority will be accorded to increased enrollment and retention of girls in schools” and “Promotion of skill development, vocational training, life-skills as part of secondary schools curriculum for adolescent girls and young women will be given importance”. Clearly the government is trying to bring discriminatory policies against boys that will completely deprive boys from quality education and development of life skills. If you have a son, you need to worry now as this selective discrimination against boys will ensure that he will always find himself in a disadvantaged position.
This policy also talks about gender sensitization and teaching of masculinity, femininity and gender roles by women teachers in schools. Since this is being rolled out in a feminist way, in all likelihood our boys will lose their identity. This will ensure brain washing our children into feminist dictated gender roles which will harm the male gender identity immensely.
The fourteen point agenda on education also includes the following – including mothers’ groups and Self Help Groups (read feminist NGOs) in schools; providing financial assistance, coaching, hostel and other care for girl children only to take up professional / scientific courses; innovative transportation models to be implemented to ensure girl students reach their education institutions pushing our boys to more hardship to get quality education; encouraging universities to have more distant learning courses for women; to improve financial literacy, education on rights, laws etc. for women. So government is not only ensuring quality support for girls to ensure they continue their schools, but also systematically creating more hardships for boys to get quality education and training.
This bunch of measures that the government is planning to take is aimed at not only depriving boys of their Right to Education (RTE) but will also ensure that the govt. waste money on a lot of undeserving female students simply because of their gender. This will demotivate deserving male candidates and will ensure that deserving boys are discouraged from participating in the economy. Many such poor male students who would otherwise need assistance will not have any option but to drop out from their schools and will be treated as unsuitable for jobs.
